Rep. Andrew Romanoff: On Energizing Colorado's Economy
The General Assembly produced the best economic development package in more than a decade. That package includes a $20 million boost to tourism promotion, which experts expect to generate more than $2 billion in economic activity, as well as significant investments in bioscience and biotechnology, renewable energy and the arts.
Colorado’s most important economic asset is its work force. That’s why the legislature increased the value of the College Opportunity Fund, making higher education more affordable for 124,000 young men and women.
We also shored up our state’s physical infrastructure, dedicating more than half a billion dollars to road and bridge repairs in just two years. That’s nearly 10 times as much money as our predecessors had hoped to provide. And we advanced a long-range solution to Colorado’s water woes – a strategy that respects both sides of the Continental Divide.
Read about progress in strengthening our schools, curbing the cost of health care, and protecting public safety in Rep. Romanoff’s end-of-session newsletter.
Romanoff seems to be doing a great job!
Working for both sides of the divide? I would love to hear more about his water plan.
