Rep. Andrew Romanoff: Curbing the Cost of Health Care
Families and businesses burdened by the high cost of health care won relief this year. We sent the governor a proposal to reduce prescription drug prices by pooling Colorado’s purchasing power with other states.
We aimed our still-scarce resources at preventive care. More than 600 infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities will receive early intervention. An additional 50,000 uninsured Coloradans will be able to use a community health clinic, instead of an emergency room, as their primary source of treatment. And advances in telemedicine will bring medical services to thousands of rural Coloradans.
