CO Democrats Act on Immigration while Congress Discusses

“While Congress continues to wrestle with immigration reform, state lawmakers recently approved at least seven measures targeting illegal immigration in Colorado,” leads John Fryar in his article in The Daily Times-Call.

His article goes on to outline the significant gains Democrats have made in immigration reform at the state level.

Even though immigration is primarily a national issue, our state legislators racked up more immigration reform bills than ever before. If Gov. Owens decides to sign the legislation the General Assembly passed, smuggling people will be a felony, the Colorado State Patrol will have a special immigration enforcement unit, and our tax dollars won’t be knowingly spent to pay illegal immigrants.
