Better Technology to Reduce Coal's Impact on Climate Change

Energy independence isn’t just an environmental or a security concern, it’s a rich renewable vein of economic development. House Democrats understand that mining that vein could produce not only independence, but Colorado’s next boom. But does Governor Bill Owens?

Call (303.866.2471), write, or knock on his door asking him to support Rep. Bernie Buescher’s Clean Energy Seed Capital bill (HB 1322) which would help develop cleaner ways of producing energy from coal. And while you’re at it, ask him to sign Rep. Jack Pommer’s Clean Coal Technology bill (HB 1281) which grants money for the study, engineering and development of clean coal technology.

Colorado’s got the coal, we just need to invest in ways to use it that don’t destroy our future. Investing in clean coal technology is not just good for the environment, it’s good for the pocketbook. Remind Gov. Owens.
