Life Getting Worse for Crooks
Losing your wallet is bad enough, but losing your identity can cause problems for years and years. This year, Rep. Jim Riesberg sponsored a bill (HB 1326) that finally made identity theft a crime in Colorado. And Governor Owens signed it into law.
“This law will protect the consumers and give law enforcement the tools they need to go after ID thieves,” said Riesberg in his newsletter.
Unbelievably, until now, Colorado was the only state without such legislation and, not surprisingly, it was a leading state in reports of identity theft. Thanks to Rep. Riesberg, Coloradans can rest just a bit easier.
