More Low-Income Homes Warm Next Winter
When you consider that one in every four Colorado households are behind in paying their Xcel bill, it makes it even more important that Rep. Rafael Gallegos has, at long last, gotten final House approval on a bill that would warm more homes each winter. In the past, any individual who made more than $11,000 a year was ineligble for assistance with their property taxes or heating bills. Couples could make a whopping $14,700.
Under Rep Gallegos’ bill, the limits have been increased by $2000 a year and more low-income individuals will be able to keep and heat their homes. read more in the Pueblo Chieftain
