Improving Health Care Access
There aren’t enough nursing teachers to educate potential students, so Rep Dorothy Butcher’s sponsoring legislation (SB 136) that would forgive student loans nurses take out as they earn the master’s degrees required to teach. More teachers mean more nurses and more nurses mean better access to health care.
And for those still distant from health care providers, help is just a call away. SB 165 would expand telemedicine programs beyond those already in place for cardiac care and diabetes. Read more in The Pueblo Chieftain...
